About Samira Shehadeh
Samira is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate who holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Winston-Salem State University and a Master of Social Work from the Joint Master of Social Work program at UNC Greensboro and NC A&T State University. Therapy has always played a significant role in Samira’s life; her mother was a mental health counselor for 18 years. From a young age, Samira learned the importance of mental health, which has fueled her passion for the field.
As a clinical therapist, Samira’s main priority is to meet clients where they are, build rapport through genuine empathy, and provide a safe space for them to feel seen, heard, and understood. She believes that clients are the experts in their own lives and seeks to be a supportive resource in helping them recognize their internal strengths and positive qualities.
Samira has gained valuable and diverse experience as a Clinical Case Manager at a public library, connecting individuals with needed resources, as a School Social Worker, and as an Outpatient Clinical Therapist over the past three years, maintaining a full caseload of clients of all ages and diagnoses. She particularly enjoys working with adults aged 18 and older who face various challenges, including depression, anxiety, stress management, life transitions, trauma, and self-esteem issues. Samira often employs therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based Approaches, and psychoeducation. Outside of work, Samira enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her cat, Layla. She also loves cooking new recipes and traveling!
