About Nicole Gurgiolo

Hi, my name is Nicole Gurgiolo and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate who is dedicated to creating warm, safe, and supportive spaces for clients to work on what feels most important to them. I completed my Masters of Social Work with a focus on Addictions Studies and Integrated Behavioral Health from Western Carolina University. I have experience working with individuals, families, and groups and I work with clients of all ages. My background includes working in partial hospitalization and outpatient therapy with a focus on treating co-occuring disorders, including bipolar disorder, PTSD, addiction, anxiety, personality adaptations, and depression.

My approach to therapy is person-centered, trauma-informed, collaborative, and strengths focused. I strive to build supportive relationships with clients and be someone in their corner as they show up for the challenging work of therapy. I aim to create a judgement and shame free space and you are welcomed to be exactly as you are. As an integrative therapist, I draw from several evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and internal family systems. I enjoy working with individuals of all ages, as well as supporting couples and families in strengthening their relationships and healing challenging dynamics.

I’m originally from Florida and have spent the past 12 years creating a home in Asheville. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, making home cooked meals, creating art, gardening, and spending time in the mountains.
