About Bria Roddy

Hello everyone, my name is Bria Roddy, LCMHC-A. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Certificate in Rehabilitation Counseling and behavioral addictions from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. I have been in the mental health field for about 6 years now.

I’ve received my clinical experience from working in community mental health settings. While being in the community-based mental health setting, I have worked with children, teenagers, young and older adults. My experience involves underserved communities that struggle with social-emotional issues, substance use, anger management, depression, anxiety disorders, life transitions, and managing stressful situations.

My therapeutic approaches involve person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. My therapeutic style involves showing empathy and unconditional positive regard while assisting the client to utilize healthy coping skills in order to reach self actualization. I believe that trust is the main factor in the therapeutic relationship. Once we develop trust, we are bound to a successful therapeutic relationship. As a therapist, I like to meet clients where they are by providing a safe and supportive environment to promote the client’s overall well-being.

During my free time, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy taking walks as this is a form of my self-care.
