About Sirrell James
Sirrell James, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her Master of Social Work through the Joint Master of Social Work (JMSW) Program at North Carolina A&T State University and UNC–Greensboro in 2016. Since completing her training, Sirrell has held a variety of clinical and leadership roles, including Program Manager and Intensive In-Home Team Leader, and has provided outpatient individual and group therapy to community members across the lifespan.
Sirrell has experience working with individuals navigating a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief. She values the importance of building strong therapeutic rapport and takes a person-centered approach, creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel comfortable speaking openly and authentically.
Her clinical work integrates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness-based interventions. Through these modalities, Sirrell supports clients as they work through challenging transitions, increase self-awareness, and build upon their strengths to promote overall wellness. She also emphasizes psychoeducation to help clients better understand their areas of growth and develop practical tools for lasting change.
Outside of her professional work, Sirrell enjoys spending time with loved ones, watching sports, traveling, and supporting the local arts community.
