About Sarah Smith

Sarah Smith is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

She brings a trauma-informed lens to her work. In addition, she has experience supporting children, teens, and families healing from complex trauma in community mental health settings. Sarah is especially passionate about working with teens and young adults as they navigate identity, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression.

In practice, Sarah meets each client where they are. She focuses on understanding each person’s unique perspective. As a result, she creates a safe, grounded space where clients can explore new perspectives, process emotions, and reconnect with their strengths.

She incorporates Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and strengths-based approaches into her work. Furthermore, she views therapy as a collaborative process. She values the idea that each client is the expert of their own experience.

Sarah’s goal is to provide a safe and supportive space that promotes healing and growth in the direction each client chooses. In addition, she prioritizes inclusivity and acceptance as the foundation of her work.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, her two cats, and reading.
