About Sander Scott

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Addiction Specialist and earned my master’s degree in Social Work from the only joint master’s program in the country between UNCG and A&T. I have clinical experience in individual counseling, crisis centers, first responder mobile crisis teams, and community mental health settings. I incorporate elements of cognitive-behavioral, solution focused, dialectical-behavioral, and internal family system therapies to discover what works best for you. I have experience helping others navigate life challenges and achieve emotional well-being who come for support with trauma, depression, anxiety, gender identity/sexual orientation struggles, mood disorders, relationship issues, and addiction.

In my practice, I employ a range of evidence-based therapeutic techniques, tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, fostering a safe and supportive environment for healing and growth. I view the client and I as a team, collaboratively working together to develop coping strategies, build resilience, navigate conflicts, and create positive changes in their lives with earned rapport in the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to support individuals in their journey toward self-discovery and emotional balance, providing guidance and encouragement every step of the way. I am determined to provide a trauma-informed space to laugh, cry, and feel while we explore thought patterns and emotions together.

Outside of my professional life, I am passionate about mindfulness and self-care. I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the gym, listening to audiobooks, and getting around the table with my friends to play Dungeons & Dragons. These personal interests not only enrich my life but also inform my practice, allowing me to bring a balanced and empathetic perspective to my work with clients. I can’t wait to meet you!
