About Renee Goulding
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a strong foundation in both medical and mental health care. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Valparaiso University and later completed my Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Southern Indiana, specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health. My career began in critical care nursing, where I spent over ten years working in high-acuity settings such as trauma, post-operative recovery, and intensive care units. Throughout my journey, I’ve had the opportunity to precept new nurses, lead staff trainings, and travel across multiple states—experiences that I believe has helped shape my adaptability and clinical judgment.
As a PMHNP, I have provided comprehensive mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults. My experience includes diagnosing and treating a broad spectrum of psychiatric conditions, inclusive but not limited to mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, PTSD, OCD, schizophrenia, eating disorders, personality disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and sleep disorders. I am committed to integrating evidence-based medication management with therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral strategies, motivational interviewing, and supportive therapy. I am experienced working with a wide range of populations including LGBTQ+ individuals, BIPOC communities, and multicultural patients. I previously delivered care both in-person and through telehealth, appreciating the flexibility it offers patients while maintaining a high standard of clinical effectiveness.
I am originally from the Chicagoland area and have lived in a variety of states, including Indiana, Colorado, California, Arizona, Virginia, and North Carolina. These experiences have shaped my perspective and enriched both my personal and professional life. Outside of work, I enjoy biking, hiking, painting, and spending time outdoors. I am thrilled to continue my journey in psychiatry and have a strong passion to help others achieve lasting mental wellness.
