About Kioka Brown

Hi! My name is Kioka Brown, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A). I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. I also completed a Certificate in Marriage and Family Counseling.

In addition, my clinical background includes work as an Applied Behavioral Analysis Technician (ABAT), where I supported children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism. I also worked as a psychometrist serving the veteran population. As a result, I developed a strong understanding of diverse mental health needs and a deep passion for helping others.

I have provided counseling services to children, teens, families, and adults. I support clients facing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and everyday stress. My therapeutic approach integrates Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, and MATCH-ADTC, an evidence-based treatment model for childhood anxiety, depression, trauma, and conduct concerns.

As a therapist, I believe in meeting clients where they are. Therefore, I create a safe, empathetic, and supportive environment grounded in acceptance and unconditional positive regard. I also view the counseling relationship as a partnership. In this process, you remain in the driver’s seat while I serve as a guide.

Together, we work to navigate challenges, strengthen inner resilience, and support meaningful growth and healing.

Outside of work, I enjoy painting. I also love traveling, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.
