About Kioka Brown

Hi! My name is Kioka Brown, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A). I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a Certificate in Marriage and Family Counseling, from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. My clinical background includes working as an Applied Behavioral Analysis Technician (ABAT), supporting children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism, as well as serving as a psychometrist for the veteran population. These experiences have shaped my understanding of diverse mental health needs and strengthened my passion for helping others.

I have provided counseling services to children, teens, families, and adults facing challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and day-to-day stress. My therapeutic approach integrates techniques from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, and MATCH-ADTC—an evidence-based modular manualized practice designed for childhood anxiety, depression, trauma, and conduct problems.

As a therapist, I believe in meeting clients where they are. I aim to create a safe, empathetic, and supportive environment built on acceptance and unconditional positive regard. I view the counseling relationship as a partnership in which you, the client, are in the driver’s seat, and I serve as a guide—helping you navigate life’s challenges, discover your inner strengths, and move toward healing and growth.

On my downtime, I love to paint. I enjoy traveling, hiking, and hanging out with my friends and family.
