About Kimberly Colón
Hello, my name is Kimberly, and it is a pleasure to meet you. I am a clinical mental health counselor and have been practicing since 2021. I provide services in both English and Spanish, as my family is from Puerto Rico. I received my Bachelor of Science in psychology and biology, focusing my studies on depression and underserved populations. I later completed my Master of Science in clinical mental health counseling at UNC–Greensboro.
After completing my education, I focused my professional career on the treatment of complex PTSD. I received training in EMDR, Progressive Counting, and Flash. I am comfortable working with children, teens, and adults. I am also experienced in supporting clients with depression, anxiety, ADHD management, stress management, independence, and self-esteem. My approach is compassionate and authentic, and I don’t shy away from being direct—I offer honest feedback and challenge clients in ways that promote growth. I often incorporate additional modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I enjoy helping my clients develop a deeper understanding of their minds and behavior so they can identify changes that support their goals.
In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, traveling, reading, and have recently begun learning how to sew.
