About Erica Frazier

Hello, I’m Erica Frazier, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, CNL. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to creating a welcoming and down-to-earth space where you feel heard, understood, and genuinely supported. My goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care that is collaborative, respectful, and personalized to you.

Originally from Mississippi, nursing is my second career. Before entering healthcare, I spent nearly 15 years working in customer service, sales, engineering, and operations. Those experiences strengthened my ability to listen carefully, solve complex problems, and connect with people in a meaningful and practical way. They continue to shape how I approach patient care today.

I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and completed my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner post-master’s certification at South College in Knoxville, Tennessee. My nursing career began in critical care, where I worked across multiple ICU specialties caring for patients and families during some of life’s most vulnerable moments. I later served as a Clinical Nurse Leader on a neurosurgery unit at Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, supporting patients recovering from strokes, spinal surgeries, and spinal cord injuries. I also served for four and a half years as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the International Clinical Nurse Leader Association.

Over time, I found myself increasingly drawn to the emotional and psychological aspects of healing. That passion led me to work in an inpatient adult crisis stabilization unit and later in outpatient mental health settings serving children, adolescents, and adults. I have experience treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, sleep-related concerns, ADHD, trauma-related conditions, and other psychiatric challenges across the lifespan. I believe mental health treatment is not one size fits all and should always be tailored to each individual’s needs and goals.

My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in evidence-based care. Treatment may include therapy, medication management, or a thoughtful combination of both, depending on what is most appropriate for you. I value honest conversations, ongoing learning, and creating a space where you feel comfortable asking questions and sharing openly. My role is to help you gain clarity, build resilience, and move forward with confidence.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, staying active with Pilates and rowing, and spending time on the lake. If you are located in North Carolina and are seeking supportive psychiatric care, I would be honored to work with you virtually or in person.
