About Caitlin Murphy

Caitlin Murphy earned her B.A. in Psychology from Auburn University. She also earned her M.A. in Professional School Counseling from Appalachian State University. Originally from the Atlanta area, she is excited to continue her career in North Carolina. She hopes to establish deep roots and meaningful connections within the community.

Caitlin’s varied life experiences help her connect with clients across ages and backgrounds. She has supported young children and adolescents in community mental health and private practice settings. Her clinical experience includes working with a variety of mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, behavioral concerns, and identity exploration. Caitlin also enjoys navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, trauma, and women’s issues with her clients.

She often incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and narrative therapy into her sessions. Caitlin approaches her work through a person-centered, mindful, feminist lens. She is also passionate about neurodivergence and the LGBTQ+ community.

Clients are encouraged to show up authentically in therapy sessions with Caitlin. In return, they will be met with that same authenticity, plus genuine warmth, curiosity, and empathy. Caitlin believes deeply in the power of the therapeutic relationship. She brings her own experiences with personal growth to her work with clients.

In her free time, Caitlin enjoys being with friends, family, and her beloved dog Lolli. She enjoys spending time in nature, baking, yoga, live music, podcasts, and spontaneous adventures.
