About Caitlin Murphy

Originally from the Atlanta area, Caitlin earned her B.A. in Psychology from Auburn University and her M.A. in Professional School Counseling from Appalachian State University. She is excited to continue her career in North Carolina, where she hopes to establish deep roots and meaningful connections within the community.

Caitlin’s varied life experiences help her connect with clients across ages and backgrounds. She has supported young children through middle adults in school, community mental health, and private practice settings. Her clinical experience includes working with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, behavioral concerns, identity exploration, relationship challenges, life transitions, trauma, and women’s issues. She often incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness techniques, and approaches her work through a person-centered, feminist lens. She is particularly passionate about neurodivergence and the LGBTQ+ community.

Therapy with Caitlin is a space where clients are encouraged to show up authentically, to be met with that same authenticity in return, plus genuine warmth, curiosity, and empathy. She believes deeply in the power of the therapeutic relationship and brings her own experiences with personal growth to her work with clients. In her free time, Caitlin enjoys being with friends, family, and her beloved dog Lolli, spending time in nature, baking, yoga, live music, podcasts, and spontaneous adventures.
