About Ami Silva

Ami Silva is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. She earned her Master of Arts in Education from Western Carolina University in 2008. She has worked as an elementary school counselor, a school-based therapist, and a private practice clinician. Across these roles, she has supported children, adolescents, adults, and families.

She has experience treating child and adolescent disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. In addition, she is passionate about strengthening family and relationship dynamics. Ami creates an engaging and supportive environment that helps clients stay motivated and work toward their goals.

Her approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and resiliency- and strengths-based techniques. She also uses play therapy and expressive arts interventions. Additionally, she is EMDR Basic Trained.

Ami focuses on helping clients identify their unique strengths and personal resources. She uses those strengths to guide treatment and support progress. Through this process, she helps clients build skills, reduce symptoms, and strengthen healthy coping strategies. Her goal is to increase overall resilience and long-term well-being.
