Lead Recruiter

As the Lead Recruiter, you will be responsible for managing the entire recruitment lifecycle across the organization, with a primary focus on clinical positions. This hybrid role requires a minimum of 3 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably within healthcare or behavioral health settings. You will develop and execute strategic recruiting initiatives, build talent pipelines, manage contract documentation and processing, and partner with hiring managers to attract top talent who align with Apogee’s mission of Making Each Day Better. This individual contributor role reports directly to the Senior Director of Clinical Operations and plays a critical part in supporting the organization’s growth and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

FULL-CYCLE RECRUITMENT – Approximately 80% of the role.

 

• Talent Acquisition Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates for clinical positions (therapists, APPs, psychiatrists, medical assistants) as well as corporate and operations roles.

• Sourcing & Pipeline Development: Proactively source candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, professional associations, networking events, and referral programs. Build and maintain a robust talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs.

• Candidate Screening: Conduct thorough resume reviews, phone screens, and initial interviews to assess candidate qualifications, experience, and cultural fit.

• Interview Coordination: Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers, ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the process.

• Offer Management: Prepare and extend offers of employment, negotiate compensation packages within established guidelines, and manage the offer acceptance process.

• Contract Documentation & Processing: Prepare, process, and maintain all employment contracts and related documentation. Ensure accurate and timely entry of contract information into all relevant systems including HRIS, ATS, and payroll platforms.

• Applicant Tracking: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system (ATS), ensuring compliance with all documentation requirements.

• Credentialing Support: Partner with credentialing teams to ensure timely completion of licensure verification and credentialing requirements for clinical hires.

 

STAKEHOLDER PARTNERSHIP – Approximately 10% of the role.

 

• Hiring Manager Collaboration: Partner closely with hiring managers to understand position requirements, team dynamics, and ideal candidate profiles. Provide guidance on market conditions and competitive compensation.

• Workforce Planning: Collaborate with leadership to forecast hiring needs based on growth plans, turnover trends, and market expansion initiatives.

• Reporting & Metrics: Provide regular recruiting updates and metrics to leadership, including time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and pipeline status.

• Employer Branding: Support employer branding initiatives to enhance Apogee’s reputation as an employer of choice within the behavioral health industry.

• Onboarding Transition: Ensure smooth handoff of new hires to HR and hiring managers for onboarding, providing relevant candidate information and context.

 

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT & COMPLIANCE – Approximately 10% of the role.

 

• Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve recruiting processes to enhance efficiency, candidate experience, and hiring outcomes.

• Compliance: Ensure all recruiting activities comply with federal, state, and local employment laws, including EEO, ADA, and OFCCP requirements.

• Market Intelligence: Stay current on industry trends, competitor hiring practices, and market compensation data to inform recruiting strategies.

• Best Practices: Research and implement recruiting best practices, tools, and technologies to enhance talent acquisition effectiveness

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in healthcare, behavioral health, or clinical settings.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

• Healthcare Recruiting: Demonstrated experience recruiting licensed clinical professionals (therapists, nurses, physicians, APPs) strongly preferred.

• ATS Proficiency: Experience with applicant tracking systems and HRIS platforms; ability to leverage technology for recruiting efficiency.

• Sourcing Skills: Proven ability to source passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean searches, and creative sourcing strategies.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport with candidates and hiring managers at all levels.

• Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities simultaneously.

• Results-Oriented: Track record of meeting or exceeding hiring targets and delivering quality hires within established timelines.

• Flexibility: Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel to clinic locations as needed.
