Dane Messer is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) who earned his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University and his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Norfolk State University. Dane has experience providing individual and group counseling to adults and older adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, adjustment difficulties, and life transitions. He utilizes a person-centered and strengths-based approach to therapy, integrating evidence-based interventions to help clients develop insight, build resilience, and achieve meaningful personal growth.
Dane’s primary clinical interests include anxiety, depression, stress management, self-esteem concerns, relationship issues, grief and bereavement, and major life transitions. He is passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel empowered to explore challenges, identify strengths, and work toward lasting change. Drawing from his background in mental health and service in the United States Navy, Dane understands the importance of adaptability, perseverance, and finding purpose during difficult times.
Outside of the counseling office, Dane enjoys spending time with his husband and two dogs, traveling, exploring new places, and trying new restaurants and local attractions. He believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change and is committed to helping clients build healthier, more fulfilling lives.
