Hi, my name is Jessica Alger-Shook. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP). I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University and my bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UNC Greensboro.
My experience includes working with children, adolescents, and young adults using an eclectic approach that integrates person-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I recognize that every client is different, so I tailor my approach to best meet each individual’s needs. My goal is to help clients develop healthy coping skills and practical strategies to navigate life’s challenges.
I have worked with individuals facing depression, anxiety, self-harm, conflict in relationships, and LGBTQIA+ identity concerns. I am passionate about helping clients manage stress, build resilience, and develop the tools they need to thrive in all areas of life.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, walking my dogs, reading, and watching way too much reality TV.
