About Melissa Kerekes
Melissa Kerekes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and achieve personal growth. She provides compassionate, evidence-based care for clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship concerns.
She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During her training, she developed a strong understanding of human behavior and the value of a holistic approach to mental health. As a result, she incorporates evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness practices into her work.
In addition to traditional therapy, Melissa offers trauma-informed yoga therapy. This approach integrates yoga principles with trauma-sensitive practices to support healing and recovery. Through this work, clients can reconnect with their bodies, reduce stress, and build resilience in a supportive environment.
In her practice, Melissa creates a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions. She focuses on empowering individuals to build on their strengths and develop practical coping strategies. As a result, clients can strengthen resilience and improve overall well-being.
Additionally, Melissa stays actively engaged in ongoing professional development. She regularly attends workshops and conferences to remain current with the latest research and best practices.
Outside of work, she enjoys practicing yoga, reading, and spending time in nature. These activities help her maintain balance and prioritize her own well-being.
