About Sarah Smith
Sarah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate and earned a Bachelor Degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Master Degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Sarah brings a trauma-informed lens to her work, informed by her experience with children, teens, and families healing from complex trauma in community mental health. Sarah is passionate about working with teens and young adults as they navigate transitions of identity, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression.
Sarah meets every client where they are at and has a passion for understanding each client’s unique perspective. Sarah is personable and grounded in trust as she creates a safe space where you can explore new perspectives, process emotions, and reconnect with your strengths. Sarah incorporates Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Strength-Based approaches into her care.
Sarah views therapy as a collaborative process and values that each client is the expert of their experiences. Sarah’s goal is to provide clients with a safe and supportive space to promote healing and growth in the direction that you choose. Sarah values and recognizes inclusivity and acceptance as the foundation of her work. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, her two cats, and reading.
